Seriously, I Am NOT A Trekkie......

But I have to admit --

I am totally psyched to see this new Star Trek "prequel".

Hmmm.....I'm thinkin' it could be for many reasons:

1. It just seems fun, escapist and the special effects look awesome.

2. Cute Chris Pine (playing the young Captain James T. Kirk) is very easy on the eyes:

Oh yeah....and he happens to look NOTHING like this:

3. I just can't get enough of Mr. Spock's crazy eyebrows.

4. I just plain love, LOVE director/producer J.J. Abrams, and most anything he creates.

J.J. is a creative & cool geek who seriously knows how to make great popcorn flicks and engrossing television, without sparing important character development.

(e.g. Felicity, Alias, LOST, Fringe, Mission Impossible III, Cloverfield.....you get the picture.)

OK.

So I've decided......

I'm not
formally a Trekkie -- but I'm very excited to see this new Star Trek, and plan to go on opening weekend, May 8th.

So......I guess I'm somewhat -- Trekkie-
ish.

Why not take a look at the new full-length trailer below, and let me know what you think.

(Hey, if you want...I'll save you a seat on opening weekend, and even share some of my popcorn.)

Seriously, when it comes to fun flicks like this one....opening weekend is best, and the more the merrier, I always say!

Oh yeah....and sometimes, a girl's just gotta get her geek on.

I'm just sayin'.

Live Long And Prosper, Y'all.......

I can't wait to see this either. I guess I would consider myself a trekkie but I'm not a fanatic about it. The only thing I'm going to have a hard thing with is the new actors portraying the original cast? Doesn't look like they are going to be as "quirky" as the group from the 60's which will make it difficult to associate with original but I still can't wait til it opens:) Thanks for the clip, I had not seen this one yet:)

the trailers had me thinking this was going to be a sexist view of the future- and the thought of that is depressing. I'll wait till some feminists have seen it and let us know how bad the sexism is before I see it (a likely rental).

I think this is gonna pull in tons of nontraditional fans and you forgot to mention that the talented Zachary Quinto (Sylar in Heroes) is, well, really talented. Good meeting you @ the sandbox!

The movie looks good, but the people you're bringing with you to the screening look better ;)
